<br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY TO ACCEPT A TRAFFIC SAFETY GRANT IN <br />AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $126,000 TO FUND THE INSTALLATION OF VEHICLE <br />SPEED FEEDBACK SIGNS ON NINE STREET SEGMENTS <br /> <br />Recitals <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro submitted a grant application to the Office of <br />Traffic Safety (OTS) for federal funding to address traffic safety problems; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the OTS has approved the grant application to fund the installation of the <br />vehicle speed feedback signs on the following nine (9) street segments in the City: <br /> <br />. Aurora Drive between West Avenue 130th and Marina Boulevard-James Garfield <br />School <br />. Best Avenue between San Leandro Boulevard and East 14th Street-Ranked No.1 in <br />2004 Traffic Calming Cycle <br />. Monterey Boulevard between Floresta Boulevard and Carmel Way-James Monroe <br />School <br />. Dutton Avenue between Merle Court and Mitchell Avenue-Roosevelt School <br />. Dutton Avenue between Dutton Court and Beverly Avenue-Washington School <br />. Juniper Street between Willow Avenue and Sagewood Avenue-James Madison <br />School <br />. Corvallis Street between Esser Avenue and Farnsworth Street-Corvallis School <br />. Dayton Avenue between Dayton Court and Wiley Street-Dayton School <br />. Fargo Avenue between Edgemoor Street and Beatty Street-Washington Manor <br />School; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended the acceptance of said grant. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br /> <br />That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with OTS for a <br />traffic safety grant in an amount not to exceed $126,000. <br />
