<br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />7:00 PM-City Council Chambers <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7: 15 p.m. <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />Mayor Santos led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Members Grant, Gregory, ProIa, Souza, Starosciak; Mayor Santos <br /> <br />ABSENT: Member Stephens <br /> <br />2. PRESENTATIONS/RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />A. Recognition of the Employee of the Quarter, Phil Quintero, Street Maintenance Worker <br />II, Public Works. <br /> <br />Phil Quintero was present to receive his award. <br /> <br />B. Presentation by Safe Passages Regarding the Youth Ventures Joint Powers Authority. <br /> <br />Alicia Perez, Director of Communications for Safe Passages, gave a PowerPoint <br />presentation which provided information on Safe Passages, the services it provides and <br />its accomplishments, as well as on the Youth Ventures Joint Powers Authority. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos suggested that the matter of participation in the Youth Ventures Joint <br />Powers Authority be referred to both City Council/School Liaison Committees for <br />consideration. There was consensus of the Council to do so. <br /> <br />C. Proclamation Declaring July 2007 as Parks and Recreation Month in San Leandro. <br /> <br />Recreation and Human Services Manager Micki Cronin accepted the proclamation. <br /> <br />D. Proclamation Declaring July 10, 2007 as "Dump The Pump Day" in San Leandro. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos accepted the proclamation on behalf of the City, and urged the citizens of <br />San Leandro to leave their cars at home on July 10,2007. <br /> <br />3. PUBLIC HEARINGS-CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the <br />Mayor. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it <br />
