PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the Mayor. <br />When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the <br />City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and <br />addresses obtained. The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest NOT <br />listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Ken Pon, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing support for the City <br />Council's adoption of the Friendship City guidelines and for adopting Yangchun, China as a <br />Friendship City. Mr. Pon commented on the city's changing demographics and noted that <br />many San Leandro residents are from the area in and around Yangchun. <br /> <br />Harold Perez, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding problems with <br />fireworks, a notice he received for wastewater charges, and reducing the number of diesel <br />trucks operating on "Dump the Pump" Day. <br /> <br />Bo Johansen, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting that the <br />residents on Walnut Drive have not yet received a full accounting of the work performed for <br />their street improvements. <br /> <br />Benny Lee, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, providing the Council with <br />background on the Sister City relationship between San Francisco and Shanghai, China. Mr. <br />Lee requested that the City Council adopt the Friendship City guidelines and adopt Yangchun <br />as a Friendship City. <br /> <br />Eduardo Collaco, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, urging the City <br />Council to adopt the Friendship City guidelines and adopt Yangchun as a Friendship City. <br />Mr. Collaco commented on the benefits of a Friendship City relationship. <br /> <br />Calvin Cheng, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting on San <br />Leandro's diversity and the many benefits which can be realized through a Friendship City <br />relationship. Mr. Cheng expressed support for the adoption of the Friendship City guidelines <br />and the adoption ofYangchun as a Friendship City. <br />
