<br />DRAFT MINUTES Page 7 <br />City of San Leandro City Council, San Leandro Hillside Geologic Hazard Abatement District, and San Leandro <br />Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-July 16, 2007 <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak asked if the City Council Facilities and Transportation Committee <br />had reviewed the agreement for the vehicle speed feedback signs. Mr. Jermanis commented <br />that the Committee had not yet reviewed the item, and it would be placed on a future agenda. <br /> <br />At Councilmember Starosciak's request, Mr. Jermanis reported on the Youth Advisory <br />Commission's recommendations on the truancy ordinance. <br /> <br />Public Comments on the Consent Calendar: <br /> <br />Robert Fox, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding Item 8.D. Mr. <br />Fox commented that the visit to China by the Mayor and members of the Council could be <br />very beneficial to both cities. Mr. Fox encouraged the delegation to consider factors such as <br />worker treatment, environmental accountability, and principles of fair trade in deciding any <br />working relationship with Yangchun, and to also examine these practices by its current Sister <br />Cities. <br /> <br />Hendy Huang, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding Item 8.D. Mr. <br />Huang commented that he would like to see added to the guidelines that the Friendship City <br />relationship between Yangchun and San Leandro should be based 50% on business and 50% <br />on community cultural exchange, and that only San Leandro residents be authorized to <br />represent the City of San Leandro on the China trip. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding various items <br />on the Consent Calendar and Action Items. <br /> <br />No amendment to Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />8. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Consent Calendar items are considered for approval by the City Council with one single <br />action. As described above in Item 7, Amendment of Consent Calendar, the City Council <br />may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of presentation or discussion. <br />Members of the public who have requested to address the Council regarding items remaining <br />on the Consent Calendar may do so for up to 3 minutes per item with a maximum of 5 <br />minutes for all items. Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by <br />title. <br /> <br />The items on the Consent Calendar were approved by the following vote: <br /> <br />MfS/C Grant and ProIa.
