<br />Gerd Marggraff suggested the City support more mixed use development to enable the <br />harbor to pay for itself. He shared his view that the focus should be on development around <br />the marina. He further stated that if no maintenance dredging is performed before 20 1 0, the <br />harbor will silt up and shared his concern that once the harbor is closed, it's gone forever. He <br />indicated he had a City produced marketing piece stating the value of the Marina to the City. <br />City Manager Jennanis informed him that the document is the piece the City used when <br />working with Washington D.C. to lobby for funding. <br /> <br />Bo Johanson wanted to know what the 2002, 2003 and 2004 dredging money was used for. <br />He stated that it was his opinion that a conference center is not a viable development and that <br />adding questions regarding public safety to a public opinion poll would confuse people. <br /> <br />Audrey Albers shared that the marina is a prized possession of the City and should be <br />maintained. <br /> <br />6. Committee Member Comments: <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak requested information on when we would receive the draft <br />Enviroillnental Opportunities and Constraints report. Interim Community Development <br />Director Sims responded that a draft will be brought to the September or October Marina <br />Committee meeting for review and discussion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Prola asked that staff send a reminder to homeowner associations of the <br />upcoming July 19,2007 Marina Shoreline Town Hall meeting and the July 30, 2007 Marina <br />Shoreline City Council work session. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos shared that he believes input from the entire City IS necessary on this <br />important issue. <br /> <br />7.
