Planning Commission Meeting Minutes Agenda No. 07-13 July 12, 2007 Page 8 0/8 I Item 7: Miscellaneous Secretary Livermore referred to a question that arose at the June 28 meeting about parking in front yards, hardscape and other concerns. Only 50% of a front yard or a maximum width of 30 feet can be paved for a driveway, but there is no restriction on paving a front yard as walkways or as a forn1 of landscaping. Other provisions pertinent to parking include Article 4-1718 in the San Leandro Zoning Code (Restrictions on Residential Parking within Required Minimum Front or Side Yards). She also cited standards ("New Neighborhood Parking Rules") that can be found on the San Leandro website, in the Community Compliance area of the Police Department. These new rules took effect March 22,2007. Commissioner Collier, who raised the issue to which Secretary Livermore responded, said that the cars had been removed. I Item 8: Commissioners' Comments None. Item 9: Staff Updates / Project Status Report Secretary Livermore said that speakers' comments on the Draft ErR tonight, as well as other comments via email, mail and fax, will be addressed in the Final EIR. In addition, Zoning Code and General Plan amendments that would implement the TOD Strategy are being developed. She expects there to be a Planning Commission work session August 9, with Planning Commission recommendations on the FEIR, the TOD Strategy, and the amendments emerging at the August 23 meeting. Chair Reed said that he believes there is a space available for the League of Cities meeting in Sacramento September 5-8, so any Commissioner interested should contact Ms. Livermore.
