<br />MINUTES <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-July 30, 2007 <br /> <br />Page 11 <br /> <br />housing project at the comer of Estabrook and East 14th Streets, and details on the project <br />financing. <br /> <br />Staff responded to questions from the Council. <br /> <br />Public Comments on Item I O.A.: <br /> <br />Rachel Gallagher, Congregations Organized for Renewal (COR), addressed the City <br />Council, thanking the Council for its consideration of this project. Ms. Gallagher <br />commented that she would like to move back to San Leandro to be closer to her church, <br />St. Leander's. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting that <br />the City is spending a lot of money that is not theirs. Mr. Filipovich commented <br />regarding the redevelopment funding for this project. He stated that he is not opposed to <br />the project, but commented that City Council and Redevelopment Agency agenda items <br />should be kept separate. <br /> <br />Dan Martinez, COR, addressed the City Council, thanking the Council for its <br />consideration of this development, for its concern for the seniors of San Leandro and for <br />consideration of the Downtown TOD Strategy. <br /> <br />Lindsay Imai, Urban Habitat, addressed the City Council, commending the Council <br />for adopting the living wage ordinance and expressing support for the Eden Senior <br />Housing project. Ms. Imai urged the Council to continue its leadership and support for <br />housing for working families. She commented favorably on the Downtown TOD <br />Strategy, stating that San Leandro's plan is viewed as a model and provides the City with <br />a great opportunity. Ms. lmai urged the Council's support for the senior housing project. <br /> <br />End of Public Comments on Item IO.A. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gregory commented that he agrees with what was presented tonight. He <br />commented on momentum the City is gathering with projects such as this one. <br /> <br />.
