City <br />park facilities include swimming pools, including the recently reconstructed, state-of--the-art Family <br />Aquatic Center, a shoreline trail system and marina, various competitive sports fields that are used for <br />local sporting events and draw teams from. throughout the region, a skate park, and two spectacular golf <br />courses as part of the IVlonarch Bay Golf Club --the Marina Executive 9 (the only 30-par 9-hole course <br />in the Bay Area) and the l8-hole Tony Lema course, which is one of the few links-style courses in the <br />Bay Area and is rated as one of the best in the region -which together host over 100 tournaments each <br />year, including the prestigious San Leandro Open, which started several years ago. Also, most of the <br />city's neighborhood parks have been upgraded in the past several years with modern playground <br />equipment and improved landscaping. <br />San Leandro sits adjacent to Lake Chabot, which is part of the East Bay Regional Parks system and <br />offers outdoor activities as hiking, boating, camping and picnicking. <br />San Leandro is also close to major sporting and entertainment venues, including the Oakland McAfee <br />Coliseum and Cisco Field, which are home to the Oakland A's, Golden State Warriors and Oakland. <br />Raiders. <br />
