City of San Leandro <br />SSMP Plan Development and Schedule <br />X SSMP AUDIT ELEMENT <br />As part of the SSMP, the Enrollee shall conduct periodic internal audits, appropriate to the size <br />of the system and the number of SSOs. At a minimum, these audits must occur every two years <br />and a report must be prepared and kept on file. This audit shall focus on evaluating the <br />effectiveness of the SSMP and the Enrollee's compliance with the SSMP requirements identified <br />in this subsection (D.13), including identification of any deficiencies in the SSMP and steps to <br />correct them. <br />City's Plan: <br />The City will develop an internal audit program to evaluate the effectiveness of our SSMP and <br />our compliance with the SSMP requirements. Internal audits will be conducted on our SSMP in <br />accordance with the requirements stated above. Our management and/or contracted <br />consultant team will conduct these audits as necessary. Strategies to identify and correct <br />deficiencies in our SSMP, if they exist, will be accomplished by the responsible manager. <br />XI. COMMUNICATIONS PROGRAM <br />`The Enrollee shall communicate on a regular basis with the public on the development, <br />implementation, and performance of its SSMP. The communication system shall provide the <br />public the opportunity to provide input to the Enrollee as the program is developed and <br />implemented. <br />The Enrollee shall also create a plan of communication with systems that are tributary and/or <br />satellite to the Enrollee's sanitary sewer system. <br />SSMP certification by technically qualified and experienced persons can provide a useful and <br />cost-effective means for ensuring that SSMPs are developed and implemented appropriately. <br />City's Plan: <br />Our plan to comply with section (XI) includes dissemination of our SSMP through short-term <br />and long-term measures starting with desk copies made available to the Public and through our <br />web site that will be described more fully in our final SSMP. <br />The City Water Polution Control division will create a management and/or contracted <br />consultant team to work on these items, including collaboration with the Oro Loma Sanitary <br />District. <br />The City will create a management and/or contracted consultant team that is technically <br />qualified to certify and provide a useful and cost-effective means for ensuring that each <br />element of our SSMPs is developed and implemented appropriately. <br />Page 9 of 10 <br />
