CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza reported on the Alameda County Fire Commission dinner held <br />last week at Wente Vineyards. <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak reported that she is now on the Congestion Management <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Santos reported that he attended a recent ACTIA meeting at which there was <br />Trail Slough Bridge project budget is still almost $1 million short. He reported that the <br />Mayors Conference will be lobbying Congress for reauthorization of the Transportation <br />Act. Mayor Santos reported that the EBDA Board has reached an agreement with the <br />General Manager, who will be leaving on May 15, 2008. The Board will be issuing an <br />t will be discussing the <br />treasurer functions at its meeting this Thursday. <br /> <br />B. Reports on Conferences and Seminars <br /> <br />Councilmember Gregory reported that he attended a recent meeting held by ABAG, and <br />he commented that San Leandro has received many accolades for its TOD Strategy and <br />is well positioned for grant funding. <br />C. Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br />1. City and San Leandro Unified School District Liaison Committee Meeting of <br />Accepted as submitted. <br />December 5, 2007. <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza commented that she attended the meeting as an observer. <br />She stated that she is anxious to discuss joint use projects with SLUSD, <br />particularly the Ninth Grade gymnasium and High School pool. Councilmember <br />Souza remarked that the City is large enough to support two pools. She stated that <br />she would not want to forgo the Washington Manor pool in order to renovate the <br />high school pool, and she feels it is important to have both. <br />Mayor Santos commented on the upcoming retreat, at which the Council will <br />determine its budget priori <br />budget deficit and its impending impact on cities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak commented that the Ninth Grade Academy <br />gymnasium was brought up as a possible joint use facility. She stated that she <br />would support the use of the gymnasium for teen programs by the City and as a <br />Starosciak concurred with Councilmember Souza that one of her priorities is to <br />complete the San Leandro Aquatics Center. <br /> <br />
