• The Agency will continue to assist with land assembly of strategic real <br />estate assets as necessary to forward the goals of the community and the <br />Redevelopment Plan, and assist its buyers in completing successful <br />redevelopment projects. Properties include 1595 Washington Avenue and <br />the adjacent City-owned parcel at 268 Parrott Street, where Agency staff <br />is currently working with developers to encourage appropriate <br />development. <br />• The Agency continues to work on the final phase of the Marina Boulevard <br />Auto Ma-I. New Suzuki and Mitsubishi dealerships are scheduled to open <br />in early 2008. <br />• Plans are underway to underground the above-ground utility lines along <br />East 14th Street. Phase One of the project, which runs from 150th Avenue <br />south to the City border, is being led by AT&T and is scheduled to begin <br />construction in summer 2008. Design work is scheduled to begin in 2008 <br />on the City led Phase Two, which will underground the utilities from 150tH <br />Avenue north to Lillian Avenue. <br />• Staff is continuing to work to improve the streetscape and medians along <br />the south area of East 14th Street. Design work was completed for a <br />streetscape and median improvement project which will run along East <br />14th Street from 136th Avenue to 143~d Avenue and construction is <br />scheduled to begin in spring 2008. <br />• The Agency will participate in funding the completion of the 150th Avenue <br />Triangle Transit Plaza and Landscape Improvement Project. <br />• In fall, 2005, the Albertsons/Deans Food complex was purchased by <br />Kaiser Permanente. In summer, 2007, Kaiser entered into an agreement <br />with ICI to develop approximately 30 of the site's 63 acres into a regional <br />shopping center with approximately 375,000 square feet of retail space. <br />Kaiser intends to develop the remaining acreage into a regional hospital <br />and medical office facility. Throughout 2007-08, Agency staff will work <br />with both Kaiser and ICI to facilitate the private (re)development of the <br />entire site. Estimated build-out of the entire site is five-to-ten years. <br />• Agency staff continues to facilitate the planning process for new or <br />significantly improved, larger I-880 interchanges at Marina Boulevard and <br />Davis Street to ease congestion and stimulate private investment in the <br />project areas by taking better advantage of its strategic regional location. <br />With the passage of Proposition 1 B, the renewal of the half cent sales tax, <br />and the Kaiser/ICI project coming to the forefront at the former Albertson's <br />distribution site directly adjacent to I-880 at Marina, it is anticipated that <br />the Marina Boulevard interchange will receive priority in regards to new <br />
