MINUTES Page 10 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-February 4, 2008 <br />Councilmember Souza also concurred with the three top priorities, and further <br />suggested that the City's federal lobbyist be presented with the entire list of projects <br />needing funding, including the top three. Several Councilmembers agreed with this <br />suggestion. <br />Vice Mayor Grant suggested that linking the Ninth Grade Academy and the <br />demographics of its student population to the East 14th Street improvements could <br />improve its chances for funding. <br />Minute Order No. 2008-005, Council Review and Selection of Three Projects for <br />Presentation to the City's Congressional Representatives During the March National <br />League of Cities Conference in Washington D.C. for Inclusion in the Federal Fiscal <br />Year 2009 Budget (selects three projects to lobby for federal funding). (1051) <br />The City Council selected the Senior Center, East 14r~ Street Improvements and <br />Public Safety Building Expansion as its top three priorities, and further directed <br />that staff forward the entire federal funding list to Simon and Company, Inc. for <br />consideration of funding throughout the year. <br />M/S/C Stephens and Prola. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />C. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br />None. <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />Mayor Santos reported on his trip to the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington, <br />D.C. <br />Councilmember Souza reported that she attended the Alameda County Waste <br />Management Agency as the Mayor's alternate. <br />Vice Mayor Grant reported that she attended the Alameda County Transportation <br />Improvement Authority (ACTIA) meeting as the Mayor's alternate, and she attended the <br />Congestion Management Agency (CMA) meeting as Councilmember Starosciak's <br />alternate. She gave kudos to Senior Engineer Keith Cooke and Councilmember <br />Starosciak for their work with the CMA. <br />Councilmember Gregory reported that he attended the BART Board meeting on January <br />24, at which the ENA was approved. He was asked by the BART Board to comment on <br />the public support for the TOD plan. <br />
