Sandra Bass, member of the Local 2$50, urged the Committee to include organized labor <br />concerns in all agreements with developers. <br />Angie Nandin, a union member and resident of Daly City, stated that unions should be part of <br />the development process and the development plan should include an organized labor <br />agreement in order to provide better benefits to employees. <br />Gerd Marggraff stated that it is important to have recreation opportunities near where you <br />live and that the harbor allows San Leandrans to get out and enjoy the bay. He also shared <br />his belief that the harbor is crucial to the identity of any development of the Shoreline - <br />Marina Area. <br />Marcos Ramirez, a labor union member and resident of Oakland, echoed concerns that <br />organized labor be a party to all agreements. <br />Torn Mullarkey, a labor union member and resident of Richmond, shared his belief that <br />Madison Marquette and Barry Swenson Builders should be closely evaluated due to past <br />labor issues. <br />Audrey Albers shared that the Shoreline -Marina Area is crucial to the City and the harbor <br />should be maintained as it provides a regional draw. <br />6. Committee Member Comments <br />Councilmember Prola explained that he agrees with many of the public comments and is in <br />favor of dredging the channel. He also stated he is in favor of including a labor harmony <br />clause in agreement. <br />Mayor Santos shared that the open public process created by the Committee had created a lot <br />of input. Mayor Santos provided a brief history of the City's financial struggles with the <br />Marina and stated that not a lot of residents support keeping the harbor open. <br />7.
