DRAFT MINUTES <br /> Page 10 <br />March 17, 2008 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak commented on the lack of local control over the <br />installation of the cables and canisters, which contributes to blight. <br /> <br /> <br />12. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Gregory ing be adjourned in memory of Kristy <br />Gough, an inspiring Olympian who was struck and killed while bicycling by a Santa Clara <br />County Sheriff Deputy. Councilmember Gregory reminded the City Council about the <br />-Oriented Development (TOD) tour of East Bay cities on <br />Saturday, April 12. He commented on the federal Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block <br />Grant, for which he feels San Leandro is in a position to be funded. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Grant commented on WalMart <br />groceries. Mr. Jermanis indicated that there is a document which contains this information, <br />and staff will provide it to the Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza requested recognition for the passing of Bill Perras, former Recreation <br />and Parks Commissioner. Councilmember Souza requested information regarding billboards, <br />such as where they can be located and if their content is regulated. <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak commented that she attended the Washington Manor <br />Homeowners Association meeting. Traffic Officer Jeff Agraviador and Community <br />Compliance Officer Lisa Agraviador provided information and responded to questions at the <br />meeting. Councilmember Starosciak announced that there will be two baseball parades on <br />March 29, and requested assistance from the Mayor to provide Council representation. <br /> <br />Councilmember Stephens commented that he attended the Broadmoor Homeowners <br />Association meeting which was attended by Police Chief Attarian and Community <br />Compliance Officer Agraviador. He also represented the Council at the flag-raising for <br />Portuguese Immigration Week on Sunday, March 9. <br /> <br />Councilmember Prola commented that he attended the Police Officers Award Lunch on <br />March 5, at which the automated license plate reader system was discussed.
