IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008- <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) <br />AGREEMENTS FOR FY 2008-2009 BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND CDBG <br />SUBRECIPIENTS FOR NON-PROFIT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (GIP) LOANS TO <br />CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (SISTER ME HOME SAFE <br />HOUSE); FAMILY SERVICE COUNSELING AND COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER <br />(FSCCRC); SPECTRUM COMMUNITY SERVICES; AND BAY AREA COMMUNITY <br />SERVICES (BAGS) (WOODROE PLACE) <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, the City is the recipient of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") <br />funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the following non-profit organizations desire to perform certain capital <br />improvement projects on or related to their respective properties: Cornerstone Community <br />Development Corporation for Building Futures with Women and Children (BFWC) -Sister Me <br />Home Safe House, Family Service Counseling & Community Resource Center (FSCCRC), <br />Spectrum Community Services, and Bay Area Community Services (BAGS) -Woodroe Place; and <br />WHEREAS, City desires to provide CDBG loans to qualified local non-profit organizations <br />in order to assist such organizations with capital improvement projects; and <br />WHEREAS, CDBG non-profit capital improvement project (GIP) loan agreements between <br />the City of San Leandro and Cornerstone Community Development Corporation for BFWC -Sister <br />Me Home Safe House, FSCCRC, Spectrum Community Services, and BAGS -Woodroe Place, <br />copies of which are attached, have been presented to this Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended the approval of said agreements; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That said agreements are hereby approved and execution thereof are hereby authorized for <br />the CDBG CIP loan amounts of $50,000 for Cornerstone Community Development Corporation - <br />Sister Me Home Safe House, $40,000 for FSCCRC, $40,000 for Spectrum Community Services, <br />and $25,000 for BAGS -Woodroe Place. <br />Introduced by Council Member and passed and adopted this 16th <br />day of June, 2008, by the following called vote: <br />
