(A) In the events of a disaster or mass casualty incident, the ability of the emergency <br />ALS ambulance providers to provide necessary prehospital emergency <br />ambulance care and transportation may be disrupted or be inadequate for the <br />number of casualties. It is necessary; therefore, that all ambulances permitted in <br />Alameda County be available to assist disaster or mass casualty medical needs <br />when there is a disaster or mass casualty incident. In the events of a disaster or <br />mass casualty incident, the COUNTY will determin® the amount of assistance <br />needed, determine accessible acceptable ambulance staffing and configuration, <br />and may authorize the dispatch of any ambulance as permitted by law. Each <br />service shall make available, and place into service, all permitted units at the <br />request of the COUNTY. The COUNTY shall coordinate all medical mutual aid <br />requests through the County Centralized Emergency Medical plspatch, the <br />medical mutual aid system, and the County Health Officer when applicable. <br />(B) The PERMITTEE shall have on file with the COUNTY, its Disaster Response <br />Plan which includes a personnel call-back plan. <br />(C) All managem®nt and field personnel of the PERMITTEE shall follow the <br />COUNTY's Multi Casualty Incident (MCI) Plan Policy during an MCI. <br />(D) The COUNTY may assist tho PERMITTEE in s®eking reimbursement for its costs <br />from any disaster relief monies. The COUNTY shall have no financial <br />responsibility for these costs or charges. <br />(E) When requested by the COUNTY, the PERMITTEE shall participate in a <br />COUNTY organized disaster exercise by sending one fully staffed ambulance <br />with a minimum ninety (90) day notice from the COUNTY. All costs associated <br />with their participation in the disaster exercise shall be the sole responsibility of <br />the PERMITTEE. <br />8.114.470 CL{LAICAL EXPERIENCE PROGRAM <br />All BLS ambulance companies, in business more than one year, shall work with the <br />COUNTY to develop and maintain a program that pravldes clinical experience to <br />students enrolled in EM7 training programs approved by the COUNTY. <br />6.114.480 COUNTY LIABILITY <br />Unless expressly agreed in writing, the COUNTY and the County of Alameda and its <br />officers and employees shall not be liable for any PERMITTEE costs or charges <br />associated with compliance undor this ordinance or the rules or regulations <br />promulgated hereunder. <br />6.114.490 SEPARABILITY <br />If any chapter, section, or subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this <br />ordinance are for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of <br />competent judgment, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and <br />Independent provision and shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions <br />hereof. <br />25 <br />
