Resolution No. 2008-090, Resolution Amending Title 1, Chapter 5 of the San Leandro <br />Administrative Code Relating to the Car Allowance for the Mayor (restores the car <br />allowance to $375 per month). (2318) <br />Councilmember Starosciak asked if there was a change to the law requiring auto <br />expense reimbursement rather than an allowance. City Attorney Williams commented <br />on AB 1234, which set requirements on reimbursement for travel expenses. Mr. <br />Jermanis added that while auto allowances can still be issued, they are treated as taxable <br />income. He pointed out that there are income limits imposed by State law on City <br />Councilmembers that do not apply to the Mayor, whose salary is set by the Council. <br />M/S/C Prola and Grant.
