Hollister, Interim City Manager <br />Uchenna Udemezue, Director <br />Engineering and Transportation Department <br />Kenneth Joseph, City Engineer r <br />Engineering and Transportation Department <br />SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACTUAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CLIFF <br />HAMMOND CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION RELATING TO THE SENIOR CENTER <br />PHASE 2 IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 06-210-18-116 <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of a contractual services agreement with Cliff Hammond <br />Construction Inspection in the amount of $215,000 to provide project inspection services for the <br />subject project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Senior Center project consists of a 21,000 square foot building capable of supporting <br />existing and future senior citizen programs and functioning as the City's Emergency Operations <br />Center as needed. <br />The City recently awarded the contract for construction of Phase 2 improvements to Alten <br />Construction, Inc. Construction is expected to start in Winter 2008 and continue for sixteen <br />months. The Phase 2 project will consist of building construction and the reconstruction of a <br />second parking area that will be used for staging during the construction period. Highlights of <br />the building include: <br />• Main Assembly Hall <br />• Classrooms <br />Computer Learning Center <br />• Exercise Room <br />• Kitchen <br />• Meeting and staff areas <br />
