Matter of an Environmental Progress Report (Green Update) for Climate Protection Activities Within the City of San Leandro (provides an update on all the municipal actions taken toward improving environmental quality and reducing greenhouse gas emissions over the last two years and on the future activities toward adoption of a Climate Action Plan). (3089) Interim City Manager Hollister provided background on the item, and introduced Interim Assistant City Manager Jacquelyn Diaz.Ms. Diaz provided an overview of the Climate Action Plan (CAP) activities for the City of San Leandro. She recognized the work of the following individuals: Business Development Manager Cynthia Battenberg, for securing a grant from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District to help pay for the development of the CAP; Planner III Sally Barros, for assuming the role of . Mayor Santos commented on a recent StopWaste.Org Administration and Organization Committee meeting, at which a presentation was given on recycling, composting and climate change; and a recent meeting on the New Apollo Program, which he attended with Councilmember Gregory. Councilmember Gregory commented on the New Apollo Program, and he stated that it offers a ray of hope in the climate crisis. At the recent League of California Cities (LOCC) Annual Conference, Councilmember Gregorycommented that he attended a presentation and heard some innovative things other cities are doing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
