ACTION ITEMS <br /> <br />Public comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker per item, subject to adjustment by the <br />Mayor. <br /> <br />A. Matter of an Environmental Progress Report (Green Update) for Climate Protection <br />Activities Within the City of San Leandro (provides an update on all the municipal <br />actions taken toward improving environmental quality and reducing greenhouse gas <br />emissions over the last two years and on the future activities toward adoption of a <br />Climate Action Plan). (3089) <br /> <br />Interim City Manager Hollister provided background on the item, and introduced <br />Interim Assistant City Manager Jacquelyn Diaz.Ms. Diaz provided an overview of the <br />Climate Action Plan (CAP) activities for the City of San Leandro. She recognized the <br />work of the following individuals: Business Development Manager Cynthia Battenberg, <br />for securing a grant from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District to help pay for <br />the development of the CAP; Planner III Sally Barros, for assuming the role of <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos commented on a recent StopWaste.Org Administration and Organization <br />Committee meeting, at which a presentation was given on recycling, composting and <br />climate change; and a recent meeting on the New Apollo Program, which he attended <br />with Councilmember Gregory. <br />Councilmember Gregory commented on the New Apollo Program, and he stated that it <br />offers a ray of hope in the climate crisis. At the recent League of California Cities <br />(LOCC) Annual Conference, Councilmember Gregorycommented that he attended a <br />presentation and heard some innovative things other cities are doing to reduce <br />greenhouse gas emissions. <br /> <br />
