City of San Leandro
Community Benefit RFP
Selection Process
Page III-I
Community Benefit Grant Funds
Request for Proposals
2008-09
SECTION III
SELECTION PROCESS
A. PROCESS AND SCHEDULE
By 5:00 p.m. on April 3, 2008, the San Leandro Recreation and Human Services Department
must receive all proposals. ABSOLUTELY NO PROPOSALS WILL BE ACCEPTED
AFTER THIS TIME.
The Proposal Review Committee (PRC), an ad hoc committee consisting of City staff and members
of the Recreation and Parks Commission, will review applications. Applicants will be invited to
make a short presentation describing the proposed program to the PRC. If needed, Staff will also
conduct site visits of applicants, not currently receiving City funds, to examine record keeping,
management and performance capacity.
The PRC will use the evaluation criteria described to review proposals and establish funding
recommendations. The PRC funding recommendations will be forwarded to the applicants and the
Recreation and Parks Commission. The PRC members will meet with fellow Commissioners at the
regular May Recreation and Parks Commission meeting to discuss recommendations and answer
questions. Members of the Commission will have the opportunity to review and modify PRC
recommendations prior to adopting final recommendations.
The final recommendations of the Recreation and Parks Commission will be forwarded to the City
Council. Should Staff differ from the Commission on the final recommendations these differences
will be outlined in the staff report submitted to City Council.
The City Council will then consider the final funding recommendations.
