City of San Leandro <br />Community Benefit RFP <br />General Information <br />Page II-2 <br />Community Benefit Grant Funds <br />Request for Proposals <br />2008-09 <br />SECTION II <br />GENERAL INFORMATION <br />A. Introduction <br />The City of San Leandro Recreation and Human Services Department is issuing this Request for <br />Proposals (RFP) to nonprofit community-based organizations interested in applying for City of San <br />Leandro Community Benefit funds to support programs serving San Leandro residents during the <br />period July 1, 2008, through June 30, 2009, (FY 2008-09). The City has prepared this application <br />package to inform interested parties of the eligibility and the assessment criteria and to assist <br />applicants in presenting their proposals clearly. <br />B. Availability of Funds <br />The City of San Leandro will make available approximately $25,000 from its General Fund to <br />support community programs during FY 2008-09. Currently, the City supports eight community <br />programs with allocations ranging from $1,500 to $5,000. <br />C. Submittal Requirements <br />All applicants must submit one unstapled original proposal. <br />D. Deadline for Receipt of Application <br />Completed applications must be received in the Recreation and Human Services Department office <br />by 5:00 p.m., April 3, 2008. Absolutely no proposals will be accepted after this time. Technical Assistance <br />Department staff welcomes the opportunity to meet one on one with applicants before proposals are <br />submitted to explain the RFP and to provide other general information. However, the applying <br />entity remains solely responsible for preparing the proposal and for its contents.
