Process modeling will be performed for each secondary treatment alternative. The alternatives will be <br />evaluated and compared based on site layout requirements, process performance and reliability, operation <br />and maintenance considerations, constructability, adaptability to future regulations, and cost. <br />If Alternative 3 is selected as the preferred alternative, Consultant shall conduct a MBBR pilot study as <br />described in Optional Services. <br />Information and/or Services Provided by City: <br />• Available record drawings and specifications of past WPCP designs. <br />• Input on operation and maintenance requirements of existing secondary treatment process. <br />• Input on configuration of predesign alternatives. <br />Consultant Deliverables: <br />• Figures showing site layout options. <br />• Summary table of alternatives comparison. <br />• Summary table of cost of alternatives. <br />• Summary memo of computer model parameters and results. <br />• Draft TM (5 hard copies). <br />Task 1.10 -Primary Effluent Flow Equalization Evaluation. Consultant shall prepare a TM to evaluate <br />primary effluent flow equalization improvements. Consultant shall review 24 months of hourly influent flow <br />data to estimate daily diurnal and peak wet weather flow equalization storage volume needs based on the <br />1998 storm. Consultant shall then evaluate the use of new and/or existing facilities (including tanks and <br />sludge lagoon) to identify alternatives and determine what combination of these facilities is necessary to <br />provide flow equalization. The alternatives will be evaluated and compared based on tank requirements, <br />performance and reliability, operation and maintenance considerations, constructability, and cost. <br />Information and/or Services Provided by City: <br />• Available record drawings and specifications of past WPCP designs. <br />• December 2006 Primary Effluent Flow Equalization Improvements (30 Percent Design). <br />• Hourly influent flow data between January 2006 and December 2007. <br />• Input on operation and maintenance requirements of existing primary effluent flow equalization <br />strategy. <br />Consulting Services Agreement between Project No. 08-593-52-239 <br />City of San Leandro and Carollo Engineers, Inc.
