COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND THE <br />CITY OF SAN LEANDRO FOR COOPERATION IN PERFORMANCE OF <br />REDEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE ALAMEDA COUNTY- <br />CITY OF SAN LEANDRO REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA <br />FOR THE EAST 14TH STREET/HESPERIAN BOULEVARD/150TH AVENUE <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />This COOPERATION AGREEMENT (this "Agreement") is made and is effective this <br />15 tv~ day of D~ C c.vi!?er; 2008, by and between the Redevelopment Agency of the City of <br />San Leandro, a public body corporate and politic (the "Agency") and the City of San Leandro, <br />California a municipal corporation and public body corporate and politic (the "City"). <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, the Agency is a redevelopment agency existing pursuant to the Community <br />Redevelopment Law, California Health and Safety Code Section 33000, et seq. Pursuant to its <br />authority under California law, the Agency has the responsibility to carry out the Redevelopment <br />Plan for the Alameda County-City of San Leandro (Joint) Project Area (the "Redevelopment <br />Plan"). <br />WHEREAS, Section 33220(a) of the Health and Safety Code provides that, for the <br />purpose of aiding and cooperating in the Redevelopment Plan, the City, upon the terms and with <br />or without consideration as it determines, may aid and assist the Agency with redevelopment <br />projects by entering into an agreement with the Agency. <br />WHEREAS, both the Agency and the City desire to undergo revitalization efforts within <br />the Alameda County-City of San Leandro Redevelopment Project Area (the "Project Area"). <br />To this end, the Agency and City desire to cooperate with regard to the design and construction <br />of the East 14th Street/Hesperian Boulevard/150`h Avenue Improvement (the "Project"). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises set out above, the <br />Agency and the City agree as follows: <br />AGREEMENT <br />Section 1. Cooperation Agreement. The Agency and the City will cooperate in the <br />performance of the improvement activities of the Project. <br />Section 2. Payment by A~ency for City Services. To facilitate the improvement <br />activities of the Project, the Agency shall pay for the costs incurred related to the property <br />acquisition and tenant relocation for 14901 East 14th Street project at a cost not to exceed ONE <br />MILLION THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($1,300,000.00).
