CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:06 p.m. <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />Councilmember Prola led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Members Grant, Gregory, Prola, Souza, Starosciak, Stephens; <br />Mayor Santos <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Mayor Santos acknowledged the many current and former elected officials in the audience. <br /> <br /> <br /> 2. PRESENTATIONS/ RECOGNITIONS/ SPECIAL ITEMS <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 2008-143 <br />A., Resolution Declaring Results of the Special Municipal <br />Election Held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 (certifies the results of the election for <br />City Councilmember, District 2 and Measures RR, SS, and TT). Cost: Approximately <br />$70,000. (1055/3142) <br /> <br />M/S/C Prola and Stephens. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br /> <br />B.Installation of New City Councilmembers. <br /> <br />Councilmember Surlene Grant reflected on the many accomplishments made by the <br />Council in her 10+ years of service. She expressed appreciation to her family, friends, <br />City staff and residents of San Leandro. <br /> <br />District 2 City Councilmember-elect Ursula Reed took the Oath of Office administered <br />by Councilmember Grant, and received her Certificate of Election. <br /> <br />Councilmember-elect Reed thanked the audience for attending tonight and <br />stated that she planned to serve the next four years on the Council with the community <br />in mind. She expressed appreciation to Councilmember Grant for teaching her about <br />the politics of San Leandro and endorsing her candidacy. She acknowledged and <br />expressed appreciation to her family and friends for their support during her campaign. <br /> <br /> <br />
