DRAFT MINUTES Page 10 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting--January 20, 2009 <br />Mayor Santos thanked Vice Mayor Stephens for attending events on his behalf while he <br />traveled to Washington, D.C. for the U.S. Conference of Mayors. Mayor Santos commented <br />that he made a recommendation to the Finance Committee regarding the dog park; he <br />commented on the City's assistance to the school districts with previous and potential joint <br />use projects; he suggested bringing the School District administrative offices downtown; and <br />he disagreed with the elimination of the 55 Bus Line. Mayor Santos announced that tonight's <br />meeting would be adjourned in memory of Leon Arthur Lalonde, who was active in the Parks <br />and Recreation Department and many local events and clubs; Reverend Father Mesrob A.K. <br />Sarafian, beloved pastor of St. Vartan Armenian Church; Gerald Shovlin, who had recently <br />retired as a foreign language teacher at Bishop O'Dowd High School; and Velda Lillian <br />Moore, mother of City Manager's Office staff member Marilyn Cumbie. <br />13.
