Grant funds are limited to the acquisition (in fee or by permanent easement) of land or the <br />development (including renovation) of park and recreational facilities. The land and facilities <br />must remain in the possession of the City and accessible by the public for 25 years after the final <br />payment is made by the District. <br />Current City Council Policy <br />As both a separate agency and in cooperation with other agencies, such as the East Bay Regional <br />Park District, the City will acquire new parklands, protect and restore natural habitat, continue to <br />restore urban creeks, protect wildlife, save open space, wetlands and bay shoreline, and improve <br />local and regional parks, trails and recreational facilities. <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br />On October 6, 2008 by Resolution No. 2008-123, the City Council acknowledged its support of <br />Measure WW, the extension of the Regional Open Space, Wildlife, Shoreline and Parks Bond. <br />City Council Committee Review and Action <br />Not Applicable <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />Policy 21.01 Park Rehabilitation.
