MINUTES Page 11 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-February 2, 2009 <br />Councilmember Gregory suggested that Engineering and Transportation Director Uche <br />Udemezue be recruited as a team leader in the 50 Million Pound Challenge. He praised Ms. <br />Ornelas and City staff for their contributions to Surlene Grant's retirement celebration. <br />Councilmember Reed commented on the crime statistics reported by district. She noted that <br />for the crime of larceny, the statistics for Bayfair skew the total for District 2, and she <br />requested that the Bayfair larceny stats be broken out from the rest of District 2. <br />Mayor Santos cautioned the City Council to consider operational expenses before suggesting <br />any new programs. He thanked the Engineering and Transportation Department for installing <br />curb cuts at Manor/Wicks and Farallon/Wicks. Mayor Santos commented on a visit to <br />Sunbridge Convalescent, and on his recent water usage and water bill. He commented that he <br />will be testifying in Sacramento in front of the Local Government Finance Committee. <br />Mayor Santos announced that tonight's meeting would be adjourned in memory of Bridget <br />Teresa Klein, the 32-year old daughter of John and Juana Klein. <br />13.
