7 <br />The San Leandro Chamber of Commerce <br />Proposed Additional Business Services, 2008-2009 <br />Preamble <br />Chamber of Commerce Industrial Development Mission <br />1. Supporting and promoting San Leandro as a vital, healthy and environmentally friendly city in which to live, <br />work, play, visit and stay. <br />2. Maintain and promote San Leandro's strength as an economy representing a diverse cross-section of industry <br />types and employment opportunities. <br />3. Supporting and promoting the successful occupancy of existing commercial, industrial and retail businesses as <br />well as the growth and/or redevelopment of those and other businesses and properties. <br />4. Developing and implementing a strategy to support the attraction and growth of key emerging industries and <br />markets that reflect both green and sustainable enterprises as well as those companies that will benefit from San <br />Leandro's key location advantages. <br />S. Active participation as a partner with the City in the East Bay Green Corridor in support of environmentally <br />sound initiatives for the benefit of the businesses and residents of San Leandro, including the support of new and <br />emerging green industries. <br />6. Co-manage, with the City Business Development staff <br />and the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce Industrial <br />Roundtable (Cost - $2,500/month): <br />A. Initiate the development of the San Leandro <br />Industrial Development Strategy by: <br />1. Creation and management of five newly established <br />Industrial Councils in established industrial <br />neighborhoods (Adams, Davis/Doolittle; <br />Fairway/Catalina; Kaiser; Washington/Alvarado); <br />2. Establish working partnerships with the businesses <br />through gaining input from industrial businesses and <br />property owners as well as other stakeholders such as <br />brokers, financial and training institutions. <br />
