Hollister <br />City Manager <br />Carolyn Knudtson, Recreation and Human Services Director <br />Recreation and Human Services Department <br />Joann Oliver, Recreation and Human Services Manager <br />Recreation and Human Services Department <br />SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE MEASURE B <br />PARATRANSIT APPLICATION FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF MEASURE B <br />PARATRANSIT FUNDS IN FY 2009-10 TO THE ALAMEDA COUNTY <br />TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT AUTHORITY, AND TO NEGOTIATE AND <br />EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS IN SUPPORT OF THESE ACTIVITIES. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the City <br />Manager to submit the FY 2009-10 Application for Measure B Paratransit funds. The application <br />will provide for the following paratransit services and program changes. As projected for the past <br />several years, we will also be implementing cost cutting measures and fee increases in order to <br />operate the service within the grant allocation. <br />Measure BGrant - $257,089 <br />1. FLEX Shuttle Service (Shuttle) - 5 Days Per Week <br />2. FLEX Curb-to-Curb (CTC) -Reservation Service, 5 Days Per Week <br />3. Interim service for people waiting to be approved by East Bay Paratransit. <br />Minimum Services Level Grant - $75,000 <br />1. Continue Out-of--Town Medical Trips (OTMT) -Reservation Service, 5 Days Per Week <br />Service Changes <br />1. New Shuttle Connection service connecting the San Leandro Flex Shuttle to Hayward <br />Round About Shuttle service. (Implemented at no additional cost.) <br />Summary of Cost CuttingMeasures: <br />1. Fee increases for Shuttle, Curb-to-Curb and Out-of--Town Medical Services <br />2. Reduce Shuttle hours by 3 hours/day <br />
