Dominque Johnson, San Leandro resident. addressed the City Council, commenting on the valuable services provided by the DSFRC for her family. Eowyn Gorman, Executive Director for Family Services Counseling Center. addressed the City Council, thanking the Council for its support for non-profit social service agencies in the community. Ms. Gorman commented on the importance of the services provided by the DSFRC and the investment the Council would be making with its $500,000 contribution. Councilmember Souza thanked the audience members for participating in tonight's meeting. A motion was made by Councilmember Souza, to adopt the resolution with an amendment, adding the following: 1) DSFRC meet with the current property owner to renegotiate the existing purchase price of $2.5 million; 2) DSFRC obtain a current appraisal of the property; and 3) DSFRC provide the City with a realistic schedule to close on the acquisition including anticipated dates they will secure all fmancing; and 4) the funding commitment would be effective for six months. The motion died for lack of a second. A motion was made by Councilmember Starosciak, seconded by Councilmember Prola, to adopt the resolution as written. Councilmember Starosciak suggested that staff research the issues that were raised by Councilmember Souza, and address her concerns at the time when this matter comes back for further discussion.
