CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br /> <br />A.Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Councilmember Reed reported on the April 8 meeting of the Alameda County Housing <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak reported on a recent meeting of the Alameda County <br />Congestion Management Agency (ACCMA). She reported that the LINKS Shuttle <br />would not be affected by the 30% reduction made to Lifeline funds; the County will be <br />implementing a shuttle from Bayfair BART to the Fairmont Juvenile Hall campus; and <br />the I-580 sound walls have gone out to bid, and construction should start at the end of <br />May. <br /> <br />Councilmember Prola reported on the most recent meeting of the Alameda County <br />Mosquito Abatement District (ACMAD) Board, at which it was reported that three <br />mosquito pools have tested positive for West Nile Virus in Contra Costa County. <br />Councilmember Prola also reported on meetings of the Oakland Airport Community <br />Noise Management Forum and the East Bay Dischargers Authority (EBDA). At the <br />EBDA agencies. <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza reported on the meeting of the Alameda County Fire <br />Commission meeting, at which the Commission received a presentation by Fire Chief <br />Sheldon Gilbert on the County Fire budget. Chief Gilbert reported that the cities of <br />Union City and Newark are considering consolidating with Alameda County Fire, and <br />these consolidations could result in savings for San Leandro. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gregory reported that Fire Chief Gilbert was selected by the U.S. Fire <br />Administration for a Harvard fellowship. He wished Chief Gilbert the best in the five- <br />week program this summer at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. <br />Councilmember Gregory reported on the AC Transit Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Policy <br />Steering Committee meeting, and he noted that slow progress is being made. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos reported on a Water Policy Task Force meeting he attended in <br />Sacramento. He reported that the Task Force would be studying storm water, <br />wastewater and regional boards, and will meet by email and teleconference to save costs <br />and travel time. Mayor Santos reported on the most recent meeting of the East Bay <br />Regional Communication System Authority (EBRCSA), and commented on the federal <br />money committed to the program. <br /> <br /> <br />
