Reports on City Council Committees 1. Rules and Communications Committee -- Vice Mayor Galvan reported on the Committee Meeting which took place December 22, 1998. C. City Council Comments 1. Council Member Gram commented on recent discussion with the Council regarding gas stations and their lack of service to the disabled and noted that, given she has noticed that one gas station has been closed, perhaps Council may want to consider how many gas stations are in existence in San Leandro before placing more restrictions on the ones currently open. 2. Council Member Nardine acknowledged Dave Bohne, Director of Community Services, for his recent election to the office of Second Vice President of the League of California Cities' Recreation, Parks and Community Services Departmentt 3. Mayor Young wished everyone a very Happy New Year. 6. CONSENT CALENDAR Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. Items 6.B, 6.F, and 6.G were removed from the Consent Calendar to New Business. The remaining items on the Consent Calendar were approved as follows: M/S/C Galvan and Glaze. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Loeffler A. Minutes of the Meeting of December 21, 1998. Approved as amended. B. Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Calling for Bids for Fairway Drive Median Landscaping, Project No. 98-210-38-198 (provides for public bidding and for landscape improvements on the median between Doolittle Drive and Neptune Drive. Bid Opening date is scheduled for January 26, 1999). Removed from the Consent Calendar to New Business. (2858)
