Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 5 <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -February 1,1999 <br />the Task Force consist of a representative from seniors (indicating Manuela <br />DeSouto would be a good choice), as well as a representative for youth, the <br />Downtown Business Association, A.C. Transit, and the City's Transportation <br />Department. She further indicated the Mayor and Vice Mayor should sit on <br />that Task Force and, perhaps, another Council Member who might be <br />interested. <br />Mayor Young reported on her attendance at the U. S. Mayors' Conference in <br />Washington, D.C., where she met with the President of the United States, the <br />First Lady, and Tipper Gore, along with various other individuals, regarding a <br />range of issues. <br />She further commented that the Council will be considering ways to celebrate <br />the year 2000 at the next Work Session and indicated she has received <br />information from the White House regarding the possibility of being name a U. <br />S. Nrllennium Community. Information regarding this will be presented to the <br />City Council on February 8, 1999. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered for approval <br />by the City Council with one single action. The City Council may remove items from <br />the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. Items listed on the Consent <br />Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. <br />Item S.C was removed from the Consent Calendar to New Business. The <br />remaining items on the Consent Calendar were approved as follows: <br />M/S/C Galvan and Glaze. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Loeffler <br />A. Minutes of the Meeting of January 19, 1999. Claiborne, JWC <br />Urban Design, and the Redevelopment Agency for the East 14~' Street/Mssion <br />Boulevard Streetscape Design Master Plan and Utility Undergrounding Project <br />Within the County Portion of the Joint Redevelopment Project Area (provides for <br />development of a Streetscape Design Master Plan and Utility Undergrounding <br />Project to improve the appearance and stimulate economic revitalization along the <br />County portion of the East 14'~ Street/Mission Boulevard corridor).
