Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 8 <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -March 1, 1999 <br />Debbie Potter gave the staff report and Dale Reed, representing the <br />Redevelopment Advisory Committee (RAC) Members, reported on the Project <br />Area, also. <br />Mayor Young and Council Member Lothrop indicated they were impressed with <br />the time and effort spent on this project by the RAC. <br />The following Resolution was then introduced: <br />Resolution No. 99-7, Resolution of the San Leandro Redevelopment Agency <br />Approving the Preliminary Report for the Proposed West San Leandro/MacArthur <br />Boulevard Redevelopment Project Area, as Required by Health and Safety Code <br />Section 33344.5 and Forwarding the Report to the Affected Taxing Entities <br />(provides for notification of affected taxing entities of the proposed West San <br />Leandro/MacArthurBoulevurd Redevelopment Project Area). <br />M/SIC Lothrop and Loet~ler. Matter of the San Leandro Redevelopment Agency's Acceptance of the Phase I <br />Central San Leandro Community-Based Revitalization Strategy (accepts the plan <br />that will provide a series of conceptual streetscape, landscaping, and BART <br />Station improvements in the area surrounding the San Leandro BART Station). <br />Debbie Potter gave the staff report and slide presentation regarding the conceptual <br />streetscape, landscaping, and BART Station improvements in the area surrounding <br />the San Leandro BART Station. <br />Council Member Loeffier expressed concern with the increased housing density <br />around the BART Station. He suggested, perhaps the City should rethink the <br />Corp Yard Site and consider making it green space. <br />Mayor Young clarified the City's partnership with BART, and it was noted BART <br />will be participating in this if the City gets funding for Phase II. It was also noted <br />seismic upgrades to BART are a big issue now, as well. <br />
