Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 3 <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -March 15, 1999 <br />B. Harold Perez, 2052 Vestal Court, addressed the Council regarding water <br />discharge into the Bay, airport noise, and pedestrian difficulties in crossing Davis <br />Street. <br />C. Walter Hirt, 716 Warden Avenue, addressed the Council regarding airport <br />noise, increased fees for garbage pickup and sewer rates; and said City staff is <br />being paid too much. <br />D. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the Council, stating that the <br />water going into the Bay is clean. He also commented on airport noise, indicating <br />there are limitations to what kinds of aircraft noises can be contested. He <br />commented further on the Gun Tax; he contended the Council is violating the <br />Brown Act by asking for speaker cards and, when submitted, shuffling them. <br />5. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMII~NTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />1. Council Member Loeffler reported on his recent attendance at the Congestion <br />Management Authority Meeting and indicated issues regazding truck traffic, <br />the need to retrofit BART structures, and the BART-Airport Connector were <br />discussed. He provided written materials he received at the meeting to the <br />Council. <br />2. Council Member Loeffler commented on a recent meeting with Larry Reid <br />from Oakland and indicated they discussed issues relating to joint Economic <br />Development. He provided discussion notes and the Airport/Hegenberger <br />Development Plan to the Council. <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees <br />1. Joint City, San Leandro Unified School District, and San Lorenzo Unified <br />School District Liaison Committee Meeting of Mazch 2, 1999 -- Council <br />Member Glaze reported on the meeting highlights. <br />2. Finance Committee, FY 1999-2000, Meeting of Mazch 11, 1999 -Mayor <br />Young reported on the meeting highlights. <br />
