When you address the <br />City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the <br />order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and addresses <br />obtained. <br />None <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one <br />hour. The public is invited to make any comments <br />related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. <br />A. Sandra Nielsen, 2140 Lewelling Boulevard, addressed the Council in opposition <br />to Agenda Item 6.B, the Monument Sign, being placed on her property. She feels <br />the sign is too high and could create a problem for children who might play on the <br />sign. She indicated it is planned to be a 12-foot sign, and she feels it should be 9 <br />feet or less. She would like the Council to delay action on this item until further <br />study is done. She requested it go on record that the City has not received their <br />permission to be on their property, due to liability issues. She further indicated <br />that plans were made before the property owners were asked to have it placed on <br />the property. She feels it was a great waste of City money. <br />B. Carey Walker, 471 Santa Monica, addressed the Council and asked who <br />approved having speaker cards. He inquired what the cost of putting Measure "H" <br />on the ballot was and would like that addressed publicly at the next Council <br />Meeting. He added that the public should be able to participate more in the <br />meetings by being able to speak more often. He concluded by commenting on <br />the City Manager's salary and how high it is. He indicated monies could be better <br />spent on street sweeping and railroad tracks. <br />5. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />1. Mayor Young indicated that she has appointed Gary Kruger to the Citizens <br />Advisory Committee for ACTA (Alameda County Transportation Authority). <br />She indicated there is an additional seat open on the Advisory Committee. <br />There is a woman who has been serving in that capacity for the last couple of <br />
