The public is invited to make any comments related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. A. Sandra Nielsen, 2140 Lewelling Boulevard, addressed the Council in opposition to Agenda Item 6.B, the Monument Sign, being placed on her property. She feels the sign is too high and could create a problem for children who might play on the sign. She indicated it is planned to be a 12-foot sign, and she feels it should be 9 feet or less. She would like the Council to delay action on this item until further study is done. She requested it go on record that the City has not received their permission to be on their property, due to liability issues. She further indicated that plans were made before the property owners were asked to have it placed on the property. She feels it was a great waste of City money. B. Carey Walker, 471 Santa Monica, addressed the Council and asked who approved having speaker cards. He inquired what the cost of putting Measure "H" on the ballot was and would like that addressed publicly at the next Council Meeting. He added that the public should be able to participate more in the meetings by being able to speak more often. He concluded by commenting on the City Manager's salary and how high it is. He indicated monies could be better spent on street sweeping and railroad tracks. 5. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies 1. Mayor Young indicated that she has appointed Gary Kruger to the Citizens Advisory Committee for ACTA (Alameda County Transportation Authority). She indicated there is an additional seat open on the Advisory Committee. There is a woman who has been serving in that capacity for the last couple of
