NEW BUSINESS <br />Items removed From the Consent Calendar: <br />6.C Resolution Approving a Contractual Services Agreement with Downtown <br />Revitalization Consultants to Create a Downtown San Leandro Business <br />Improvement District (BID). Cost: $28,000.00. <br />Council Member Grant suggested discussion should take place regarding the issue of <br />equity for other business areas. She indicated the BID concept is great for the <br />downtown, but other areas of the City could also benefit from this type of assistance. <br />City Council discussion continued regarding the terms of the consultants' service <br />through the end of 1999. It was also expressed that this improvement district could <br />serve as an impetus for other area businesses. <br />
