Cost: $28,100.00 Council Member Loeffler remarked that he would like more information on "evidence" of success of this program; i.e., has their been a reduction in bicycle accidents, information on helmet use -has it increased? Also, more information regarding the issue of bicycle theft and bicycle security would be helpful. Council Member Glaze questioned if this is a proper use, as mandated, for DFSI funds? Uche Udemezue indicated this is old money, which is okay to use, not new, restructured DFSI funds. Council Member Grant requested, when this item comes back to the Council, she would like to have when and where the programs are held identified. Uche Udemezue further stated this is the last year of a five-year program, and any new money would have to be re-identified. The following Motion was then introduced: -- Minute Order No. 99-25, Matter of Resolution Approving a Contractual Services Agreement with Safe Moves Relating to the Pedestrian Safety Program (provides for pedestrian and bicycle safety programs for all age groups within the community). Cost: $28,100.00 (1925/2323) The City Council requested that staff provide the following, additional information regarding the Pedestrian Safety Program, and continued the matter to a date uncertain: (1) "Evidence" of success of this program; i.e., has their been a reduction in bicycle accidents, information on helmet use -has it increased?
