Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 6 <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -- May 17,1999 <br />(3) Directing staff to convey the specific comments and concerns discussed this <br />evening. <br />M/S/C Nardine and Galvan. Ayes: 4; Noes: Glaze, Loeffier and Lothrop <br />The City Council recessed at 7:25 p.m. to 8:35 p.m. <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one <br />hour. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and <br />submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official <br />record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to make any comments <br />related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. <br />A. Harold Perez, 2052 Vestal Court, addressed the City Council, thanking the <br />Mayor and Kathy Ornelas for making a tape regarding the Airport. He questioned <br />why there are so many cars parked in driveways that have no license plates. He <br />also complained of people living in plastic tents in their yard. He indicated people <br />come and go all night long. He expressed frustration with access to the Wahnart <br />Shopping Center from Timothy Drive. He concluded by commenting on pollution <br />going into the Bay. <br />B. Laverne Anderson, 1495 -159th Avenue, addressed the City Council regarding <br />the traffic this evening on East 14't` Street, and thanked Larry Ornellas, <br />maintenance staff, for his help calling in the situation. He also thanked whoever <br />cut the weeds at the Veterinary Shop -noting it looks nice. Mr. Anderson <br />presented to the Mayor the VFW Book for display at the Manor Branch Library, <br />indicating the book tells the story of the VFW from their inception. He indicated <br />he would like one copy kept at City Hall and another will be presented to the Main <br />Library. Mr. Anderson also gave the Mayor booklets regarding the history of the <br />Bonaire Homeowners' Association for inclusion with other reference documents at <br />the Library. <br />C. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />Minutes of April 19, 1999, indicating he had requested that his comments be <br />reflected verbatim, and they were not. He commented that the City Council will be <br />approving the Minutes before public comments are received. He also asked what <br />changes were made to those Minutes, as they had been deferred to this meeting <br />from the last meeting. Mr. Filipovich submitted a written copy of his comments <br />from the last meeting to the City Clerk. <br />
