NEW BUSINESS <br />Items removed from the Consent Calendar: <br />6.K Matter of Authorization to Create the New Classifications of Environmental <br />Services Manager, Environmental Protection Specialist III, Environmental <br />Protection Specialist II, and Environmental Protection Specialist I; to Delete the <br />Hazardous Materials Coordinator, Hazardous Materials Inspector, Environmental <br />Compliance Coordinator, and Environmental Compliance Inspector (Journey and <br />Entry) Classifications; and to Amend the Pay Plan to Provide a Salary Range for <br />Said New Classifications and to Delete Said Existing Classifications (requests <br />authorization from City Council to effect these classification changes and amend the <br />Pay Plan). <br />Steve Harman, Human Resources Director, clarified for the City Council the <br />elimination of the vacant positions and the new classifications that are being <br />proposed. <br />Council Mernber Glaze stressed that all of the proposed positions have a change in <br />salary and that needs to be pointed out more clearly to the City Council and the <br />public. <br />The following Motion and Resolution were then introduced: <br />-- Minute Order No. 99-46, Motion Authorizing Creation of the New <br />Classifications of Environmental Services Manager, Environmental Protection <br />Specialist III, Environmental Protection Specialist II, and Environmental <br />Protection Specialist I; and to Delete the Hazardous Materials and <br />Environmental Compliance Classifications. (1079) <br />The City Council authorized creation of the new classifications of <br />Environmental Services Manager, Environmental Protection Specialist III, <br />Environmental Protection Specialist II, and Environmental Protection <br />Specialist I; and deletion of the Hazardous Materials and Environmental <br />Compliance Classifications. <br />M/S/C Galvan and Lothrop.
