.. <br />Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 7 <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -- July 19,1999 <br />Vice Mayor Galvan indicated he feels this would be an enhancement and an asset <br />to the neighborhood. <br />Mayor Young stated she sees this as an economic viability for the City. She <br />clarified that the school-impact fees are voted on by the people of California, and <br />the City has no control over those impact fees. She stated her continued support <br />for the proposed project. <br />Council Member Grant clarified with staff that this use conforms with the current <br />General Plan. <br />Vice Mayor Galvan indicated he feels this will enhance the use of the nearby <br />shopping center and will attract good, high-quality, stable uses for the center. <br />Mayor Young indicated she has been contacted by Roger's Trucking regarding the <br />use of this property if this project is not approved. <br />Mike Maples, representing Trumark Companies, responded to concerns expressed, <br />indicated the overwhelming support of the surrounding neighborhood, and urged <br />the City Council's approval of their project. <br />Council Member Lothrop indicated she is impressed with the architectural <br />drawings and stated she remains concerned with land use. She clarified further <br />how this project will help boost the retail sales in the area. <br />Mayor Young indicated there had been an additional letter submitted by Reed <br />Onate, Project Manager, requesting a modification to Condition XI. <br />The following Motions, Resolution, and Ordinance were then introduced: <br />-- Minute Order No. 99-48, Motion Certifying Mitigated Negative Declaration <br />for A-98-9 and PD-98-3 as Complete and in Compliance with CEQA <br />Requirements; Approving the Reclassification of A-98-9 to RS (PD) <br />Residential, Single-Family, Planned Development Overlay District; and <br />Approving the Planned Development, PD-98-3, Subject to the Conditions of <br />Approval. (1099/1009/2863) <br />The City Council certified the Mitigated Negative Declaration for A-98-9 <br />and PD-98-3 as Complete and in Compliance with CEQA Requirements; <br />Approved the Reclassification of A-98-9 to RS (PD) Residential, Single- <br />Family, Planned Development Overlay District; and Approved the <br />Planned Development, PD-98-3, Subject to the Conditions of Approval. <br />M/S/C Nardine and Galvan. Ayes: 4; Noes: Glaze, Loeffler and Lathrop <br />
