Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 10
San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -November 15, 1999
4. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one
hour. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and
submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official
record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to make any comments
related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time.
A. Rose Johnson, San Leandro WORKs, and Tom Guarino, San Leandro
Chamber of Commerce, along with a participant in the program, Kim and
her son, from San Leandro WORKs, addressed the City Council and presented
a Press Packet regarding their San Leandro WORKS Program. Ms. Johnson
shared the success of the program with the City Council.
B. Harold Perez, 2052 Vestal Court, addressed the City Council regarding various
concerns in his neighborhood, including too many vehicles being stored on
property located at 1319 Marybelle; a residence where he believes drugs are being
sold; illegal activity relating to the stealing of electricity; and complaints regarding
continuous barking of dogs in his neighborhood. He concluded by insinuating the
Airport is manipulating the decibel readings with regard to airplane noise in their
neighborhood.
C. Marcia Johnson, 794 Estudillo Avenue, addressed the City Council regarding
the City's Website redesign project. She suggested the community should be
polled as to the information they would like to see on the site. She suggested the
City may want to consider including all City Council, Committees, and Board and
Commission Agendas, draft budgets, approved budgets, the ability to download
pdf files, etc. She stated perhaps community people should be directly involved in
the redesign effort.
D. Jack Pyne, 247 Lewelling Boulevard #6, addressed the City Council regarding
the Mobile Home Issues Ad Hoc Committee, asking how inspections will be
conducted at Salel's Mobile Home Park. Staff indicated someone from
Community Standards and the Fire Department will be inspecting the premises. It
was further indicated staff may coordinate efforts with the State to do inspections,
also. Mr. Pyne indicated he would like to be notified of any public meetings that
take place regarding this issue.
The City Council recessed from 9:10 p.m. to 9:18 p.m. Council Member Nardine
left the Council Meeting at this time.
