He added <br />that he will be available if anyone needs help, as he will be visiting the area often. <br />He encouraged the City Council to appoint someone outside the elected-official <br />realm and concluded by asking that he be allowed to attend the January meeting of <br />the Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees so that he might say goodbye <br />to his colleagues. <br />B. Harold Perex, 2052 Vestal Court, addressed the City Council regarding a <br />brochure from the Airport and added that there is no mention of the Ciry of San <br />Leandro's concerns within that pamphlet. He voiced ongoing concerns with <br />airport noise. <br />C. Walter Hirt, 716 Warden Avenue, addressed the City Council regarding <br />Proposition 218 and asked how the City Council can ignore it. He voiced <br />concerns with pending increases in salaries for the Ciry Manager, Fire Fighters, <br />etc. He continued by commenting on airport noise issues. <br />D. Mason Rashid, P.O. Boa 1574, addressed the City Council regarding airport <br />noise issues. He stated he is concerned that the Airport Ad Hoc Committee <br />meetings are not open to the public. <br />Council Member Nardine arrived at the City Council Meeting. <br />E. Howard Kerr, 15388 Norton Street, addressed the City Council on behalf of <br />the Washington Homeowners' Association and the Floresta Homeowners' <br />Association, regarding National Flood Insurance issues and indicated the amount <br />of money residents will have to expend to have the required amount of insurance is <br />unfair. He asked for the City Council's support to help relieve this expense by <br />encouraging Alameda County to provide full or partial financial assistance toward <br />protection against residential flooding in the Washington Manor and Floresta areas <br />of San Leandro. <br />F. Audrey Albers, 2037 Marina Court, addressed the City Council regarding her <br />opposition to Speaker Cards. She continued by commenting that she is in support <br />of the Schools' Joint Use Agreements but encouraged the Ciry to not sell Burrell <br />Field. She concluded by commenting on the proposed increase in the City <br />Manager's salary and noted he should not get a bonus for doing his job. <br />G. Paul G. Vargas, 872 Portola, addressed the City Council in opposition to the <br />proposed City Manager's contract. He continued by requesting the name of the <br />travel agency that coordinates travel for the City Council, indicating there could, <br />perhaps, be a conflict of interest. <br />H. Justin Agrella, 1231-148' Avenue, addressed the City Council regarding taxes <br />and stated the City Council should rescind or place on the ballot the issue of the <br />Real Property Transfer Tax. <br />
