' Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council Meeting Page - 2 - <br />January 5, 1998 <br />REGULAR MEETING -- 7:00 P.M. -- CITY CouNCIL CHAMBERS <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br />B. Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Loeffler, Lothrop, Polvorosa, <br />Young; Mayor Corbett <br />ABSENT: None <br />2. PRESENTATIONS <br />A. Presentation by Rick Richards, Friends of San Leandro Creek, Proposed <br />Creek Mural. <br />Rick Richards introduced members of the Mural Committee that were <br />present and gave a presentation, including a slide show, of what is <br />proposed to be done by the muralist, Veronica Weckmeister. Mr. Richards <br />provided Council Members with a listing of Mural-Painting Workshops. He <br />also noted a Mural Maintenance Fund is to be set up by the Friends of <br />the Creek. <br />Council Member Glaze questioned and received Council consensus to have <br />staff assist the Friends of the Creek in locating grant opportunities <br />and funds for their proposed Mural Maintenance fund. <br />3. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />None <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited <br />to make any comments related to Agenda items, or other items of public <br />interest, at this time. <br />A. Carey Walker, 471 Santa Monica, addressed the Council regarding the <br />status of sound monitoring by Mission Bay Mobilehome Park as it relates <br />to the railroad tracks/train noise. <br />B. Dick Kahler, President of the Bay Bank of Commerce, addressed the <br />Council in favor of Council supporting the proposal to reroute Alameda <br />County Transit District Routes from West Juana between East 14th Street <br />and Hays Street. <br />
