I ~` Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council Meeting Page - 6 - <br />January 5, 1998 <br />C. City Council Comments <br />1. Council Member Lothrop commented on the wonderful job Vice Mayor <br />Loeffler did at the recent Port of Oakland Hearing. <br />2. Vice Mayor Loeffler acknowledged City staff and the City Attorney for <br />their research and information provided to him, which facilitated his <br />presentation to the Port of Oakland. He commented briefly on an <br />upcoming meeting to start planning with the City of San Leandro, <br />County, and the Port of Oakland to come up with a common design to <br />the airport approach. <br />Vice Mayor Loeffler also commented on Homeowner Associations and the <br />need for leadership training/assistance. He feels they need some <br />help on how to be more effective as a group. <br />There was City Council consensus to have staff check with other <br />communities to see how they have dealt with the issue of homeowner <br />associations' need for leadership training/assistance and to get <br />specific city models on how they have provided assistance. <br />Vice Mayor Loeffler, given that budget planning is approaching, asked <br />that Council receive a timeline that is being proposed. <br />3. Council Members Young and Galvan wished everyone a Happy New Year. <br />4. Mayor Corbett also wished everyone Happy New Year. <br />9.
