Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council Page - 2 - <br />February 2, 1998 <br />3. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />None <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited <br />to make any comments related to Agenda items, or other items of public <br />interest, at this time. <br />A. Carey Walker, 471 Santa Monica, addressed the Council regarding railroad <br />tracks, the soundwall issue around Mission Bay Mobile Home Park, and <br />money the City is lending persons to start their own businesses. <br />B. Darlene Evans, 361 Bristol Boulevard, addressed the Council regarding <br />Alameda County Transit District bus stops and how they should be <br />located. <br />C. Marcie Christensen, Pleasant Hill, addressed the Council regarding the <br />Pot Bellied Pig Ordinance and urged the Council to increase the weight <br />limit from 130 to 200 pounds or more and to eliminate a restriction on <br />the height. <br />D. Dale Reed, 1560 Daily Court, addressed the Council, indicating his <br />support for the Alameda County Transportation Plan and the <br />recommendation to place a proposition to extend the one-half-cent sales <br />tax measure on the June 1998 ballot. He also indicated that the Civic <br />and Business Committee of the Industrial Roundtable are working on <br />language for the Business License Tax to be placed on the June ballot, <br />as well. <br />E. Richard Sears, Livermore, addressed the Council regarding the Pot <br />Bellied Pig Ordinance and recommended the weight limit be increased and <br />that the height limit be removed. <br />F. Tom Guarino, 262 Davis Street, Representing the San Leandro Chamber of <br />Commerce, addressed the Council regarding the Gun Tax and Business <br />License Tax Ordinance and the recent negotiations that have taken place. <br />He encouraged the Council to not link the two ordinances and was <br />supportive of separating the issues on the ballot. He also asked that <br />the Council consider deferring the issue of the Gun Tax to possibly <br />November or the next General Municipal Election in 2000. <br />G. Pat Piras, 892 Grant, San Lorenzo, addressed the Council and expressed <br />her support for placing the one-half-cent sales tax measure on the <br />ballot in June. <br />
