Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council <br />February 2, 1998 <br />Page - 3 - <br />H. Howard Kerr, 15388 Norton Street, addressed the Council, expressing his <br />support for increasing the weight in the Pot Bellied Pig Ordinance to <br />200 pounds or more. He also expressed concerns with railroad tracks <br />within San Leandro and concluded by urging the community, as well as the <br />Council, to be supportive of the one-half-cent sales tax measure on the <br />June 1998 ballot. <br />I. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the Council, recalling <br />events as they related to Mr. Korematsu's experiences, that the Minutes <br />do not reflect what actually happens during the Council Meeting, that he <br />would like to see more public participation, and that the Council should <br />kill the gun-control ordinance by rescinding it. <br />5. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered <br />for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council <br />may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. <br />Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. <br />Council Member Young requested that the Minutes for January 12, 1998, be <br />amended to reflect, on page 9, that she had asked that the Council be <br />responsive to the needs in District 6, and that it not state that she asked <br />that the item be continued. <br />Council Member Glaze clarified that there were CDBG moneys available for <br />small business loans. <br />The Consent Calendar was approved as follows: <br />M/S/C Loeffler and Young. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />A. Minutes of the Special Meeting of January 12, 1998. Approved as <br />amended. <br />B. Minutes of the Meeting of January 20, 1998. Approved as submitted. <br />C. Resolution No. 98-12, Resolution of the San Leandro City Council <br />Approving Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Business Loan <br />and Regulatory Agreement - Ronald Johnson, Antiquities (provides for <br />financial assistance in the amount of $22,000 to a small business, as <br />outlined in the City's "CDBG Economic Development - Small Business Loan <br />Guidelines"). (2730) <br />D. Resolution No. 98-13, Resolution Approving Parcel Map 7254, S. L. <br />Vanuatu Properties, LCC - Davis Street at Beecher Street (provides for <br />subdivision of existing 42,025-square-foot parcel into two lots [Parcel <br />1 - 18,568 square feet; Parcel 2 - 23,457 square feet]; Owner: City of <br />San Leandro, Redevelopment Agency.
