Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council <br />February 2, 1998 <br />Page - 6 - <br />Matter of Staff Direction Regarding Ballot Measure(s) for the June 2, <br />1998, San Leandro Municipal Election. (1055) <br />The City Council directed staff to bring back the Gun Tax and Business <br />License Tax Ordinances as separate questions to be placed on the June 2, <br />1998, ballot. <br />E. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br />None <br />7. OPEN FORUM <br />Open Forum is limited to 3 minutes maximum per speaker, 15 minutes total. <br />A. Darlene Evans, 361 Bristol Boulevard, addressed the Council, stating she <br />hopes she never has a 300-pound anything on her property. She also <br />questioned why pot-bellied pigs would be licensed like dogs. <br />B. Carey Walker, 471 Santa Monica, addressed the Council regarding his past <br />experience as an Alameda County bus driver and asked which of the <br />Council Members voted for the soundwall and who voted against it. <br />C. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the Council, stating that <br />Proposition 218 doesn't matter if the Council would consider, by a <br />majority vote, to remove the Gun Tax, Real Property Transfer Tax, and <br />the Water Run-off Ordinances. <br />8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />None <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees <br />None <br />C. City Council Comments <br />1. Council Member Lothrop asked for and an update was given by Bill <br />Algire regarding the Davis/Doolittle sink-hole incident. Mayor <br />Corbett thanked those staff persons who participated in the emergency <br />response. <br />
