~~ Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 2 - <br />' San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Meeting - February 17, 1998 <br />Council asked and questions were answered with regard to hours of <br />operation, restroom hours, traffic circulation, and ingress/egress <br />concerns on the site. <br />Bernie Clevens, RHL Design Group, Inc., 650 How Avenue, Suite 504, <br />Sacramento, representing Nella Oil, responded to some of the concerns <br />expressed by the Council regarding traffic circulation on the site. <br />After lengthy discussion by the Council, Council Member Polvorosa <br />suggested that Council consider having the hours of operation and <br />traffic circulation reviewed in six (6) months. <br />The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br />George Saunders, Past President of the Bonaire Civic League, addressed <br />the Council with concerns regarding blocked traffic on Merced Street as <br />a result of this proposal. <br />Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the Council, clarifying <br />that this is a 24-hour, self-serve station; that the convenience store <br />would be closed between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.; and that the station <br />will be called "Flyers" and would sell Exxon gas. He commented on the <br />proposal and urged Council to approve it. <br />There being no further comments from the public, the Public Hearing was <br />closed. <br />M/S/C Young and Lothrop. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Loeffler <br />The following Motion and Ordinance were then introduced: <br />- Minute Order No. 98-8, Motion Approving the Rezoning of A-97-11 to IG <br />(PD) Industrial General Planned Development Overlay District and <br />Approving the Planned Development, PD-97-9, subject to the Conditions <br />of Approval. (1099/1009) <br />The City Council approved the Rezoning of A-97-11 to IG (PD) <br />Industrial General Planned Development Overlay District and approved <br />the Planned Development, PD-97-9, subject to the Conditions of <br />Approval, and directed staff to return in six (6) months with a <br />traffic-circulation and hours-of-operation report. <br />M/S/C Polvorosa and Young. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Loeffler <br />- Ordinance No. 98-02, An Ordinance Reclassifying Certain Property <br />Herein Described as to Zoning District and Amending Zoning Map (A-97- <br />11), 2180 Merced Street, Northeast Corner of Merced Street and Marina <br />Boulevard. (1099/1009/1024) <br />- Passed to Print <br />M/S/C Polvorosa and Lothrop. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Loeffler <br />
