Ordinance No. 98-01, An Ordinance Amending Section 3-5-100 of Title III, <br />Chapter 5 and Section 4-11-100 of Title IV, Chapter 11 of the San <br />Leandro Municipal Code Regulating Pot-Bellied Pigs. NEW BUSINESS <br />Items Removed from the Consent Calendar. <br />5.F Resolution of Award of Contract to Bluewater Environmental Services, Inc., <br />for Community Library Hazardous Materials Abatement and Selective <br />Demolition, Project No. 98-215-28-115 (recommends award to the low bidder <br />for bid amount of $221,925.00). <br />Council Member Glaze clarified that, by voting "Yes" on this matter, it <br />would not commit the Council to anything other than the hazardous materials <br />abatement. <br />The following Resolution was then introduced: <br />Resolution No. 98-21, Resolution of Award of Contract to Bluewater <br />Environmental Services, Inc., for Community Library Hazardous Materials <br />Abatement and Selective Demolition, Project No. 98-215-28-115 (recommends <br />award to the low bidder for bid amount of $221,925.00). Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Loeffler <br />5.G Resolution Approving an Administrative Policy for the Placement of <br />Directional Signs for Business Districts, Recreational Facilities, Religious <br />Institutions, Government Facilities, and Shopping Centers in the Public <br />Right of Way (provides for a uniform, directional-sign program to direct <br />residents and visitors to important destinations within the City). <br />Council Member Glaze expressed his concern that it appears we are getting to <br />the point of "sign pollution." He would like to see staff propose a way to <br />limit the total number of signs throughout the City, as well as review the <br />enforcement of "A-frame" signs. <br />Council discussion ensued regarding the possibility of consolidating signs. <br />
